Springing Into The New Season

Ciao!
The new blogger is finally making posts. Keeping you updated on trends and typing away all the news that's fit to print.

First, a little introduction.

My name is Christine Hernandez, a journalism major at California State University, Long Beach. Growing up in a family with an Italian, Spanish/Mexican mix, it was hard to ignore the beauty of fashion found on the pages of GQ, on the runways of Milan and on the patterns of my mother's vestiti vintage.

I've been with S.I.F on an on/off relationship because of Long Beach State's high demands, but nevertheless, I have to say that the club keeps its members well-informed with events, internships and job opportunities. Join it!

If you're drop-dead serious about fashion, always cutting out pieces of magazine articles and spending hours drawing and sewing your creatively-crafted outfits-- or simply have a passion for fashion, then add our club's blog, visit us frequently and read on fashioneers.

Can't get enough? Then read on! Check out my Personal Blog:

Hasta Luego!

Reawakening a Passion

All right all you readers and fashion-inspired people. I would like to officially state that the emphasis of my blog writing will center around cosmetics, skincare, and hair artistry throughout this semester. Why am I focusing on these three aspects? I've spent many years perfecting hair artistry techniques and finding healthy skincare regiments to inform my readers about my findings and my reviews on certain products. Hopefully I will be able to evoke discussions that will lead to smarter buying skills.Unfortunately, as of right now, I will have to make it through finals before I am able to publish something new, but keep your eyes out for my recommendations and reviews of your favorite products/soon-to-be products.

Your S.I.F. Secretary,
Sean O'Dwyer

Vegan Food Delights

I apologize for my inability to publish frequently to this blog, but I would like to share a new vegan blog that my friend is "cooking up". Follower her tumbler site and get some great recipes.

Awesome Fashion Blog/Thread

As a writer, I wish I had enough time to write about my recommendations for skincare, cosmetics, and haircare, but because of the time constraint I have to direct your attention to a site that my friend writes for. Follow this and stay updated on new trends and style ideas.

Polished Spring Beauty

What do Spring, 'GLEE,' and the upcoming Royal wedding all have in common? NAIL POLISH!

Spring is a time to enjoy color! So why not add a little color to your life via nail polish?!

According to www.refinery29.com, there are 6 top nail polish trends for 2011:
1) Nude, high-gloss colors
www.essie.com
2) Pale blues; Such as robin's egg or Tiffany blue:

 6) Unique top-coats: such as OPI shatter
Polish trends tend to coincide with the trends of pop culture, including 'GLEE' and the upcoming Royal Wedding.

Sephora and their Sephora by OPI brand has teamed up with 'Glee' to create a nail polish collection. This limited edition nail color collection will be in stores this month. There will be 7 different shades, all relating to a specific character or moment from the show. Each will sell for $9.50.

A mini set will be sold for $22, and includes 6 colors, which are called: Miss Bossy Pants (Rachel: raspberry color), Slushied (opaque blue), Celibacy Club (diamond top coat), Gleek Out (glitterly lime green), Sue vs. Shue (navy blue), and Express Yourself to Yourself (coral shimmer).

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been the talk of the fashion industry when it comes to Kate's wedding dress. But the nail industry is also getting in on the buzz. London based polish brand, Butter London, is coming out with a sparkly lavender polish called "No More Waity, Katie" after the often used London tabloid headline. The polish will be released mid March for $22, and can be purchased at http://www.butterlondon.com/.

Christian Dior Haute Couture SS11

These photos found on The Cool Hunter website are completely inspiring and glamourous.  It seems that John Galliano must have been inspired by Christian Dior's original "New Look" for the Dior Spring Couture Collection.  Several of the pieces in the show have a very old essences to them.  The cut of the each silhouette is beautifully feminie and fragile, yet the colors extract an edginess all over.
